All Clydesdale's Road-Towable winches and drum trailers are sold with an Individual Vehicle Approval (IVA) in place from the UK Vehicle inspectorate. This has been a legal requirement for this type of special purpose equipment since October 2014.
Probably the most innovative development to have occurred in the field of drum trailers for years, the Clydesdale three drum trailer has revolutionised the world of three phase conductor stringing. There is no need to have 3 separate drumstands on site, all three drums can be handled by one easy to use, easy to tow, self loading Cable Drum Trailer. The trailer is fitted with a 40mm eye as standard, however a 76mm eye can be fitted as an alternative should you prefer.
In the past it has been necessary to have several vehicles simply to enable all of the equipment required to be transported to the site. Now all that is required is one vehicle to tow the three phase conductor stringing winch and one to tow the 3 Drum Cable Drum Trailer. The trailer can be loaded, with all 3 drums, in the depot. The loading of the 3 drums should take no more than 10 minutes, and then straight out to site for almost immediate stringing to commence.
The trailer is a one man operation, with a centrally located operation station where control of the individually disc braked drums can be maintained up to a torque of 500Nm. The latest generation even comes complete with a small engine to power the raising / lowering of the A frame to assist set up and reduce operator effort.

All our Cable Drum Trailers are CE marked and come complete with a full lighting pack to allow them to be used safely and legally on highways within the EC (should you wish use a Clydesdale Cable Drum Trailer outside of the EC then please consult your local authorities for any specific requirement for your location).
All trailers manufactured and supplied by Clydesdale are steel welded and hot dipped galvanised to ensure the longest possible useful life. All of our trailers are also equipped with full road suspension with overrun (auto reverse), parking brakes and comply in full with current RTA regulations.
