Mounted between the phase elements and connected to the operating rod by the axis coupling the phase coupling tube is a box section rod which turns to open / close the Air Break Switch Disconnector. For 36kV rated Air Break Switch Disconnector the phase coupling tube is double lined to ensure sufficient torque strength.
