One unique feature of the Clydesdale Air Break Switch Disconnector is the telescopic operating rods that are used in conjunction with the ground level handle mechanism. The advantage of this telescopic operating rod is that the rod extends by upto 2m ensuring that the Air Break Switch Disconnector is set to operate perfectly. This telescopic rod also avoids the necessity of cutting the operating rod to length as is required by some competitor rod sets. In conjunction with the telescopic rod Clydesdale also supplies a fixed length rod (Top Rod), this clamps to the phase coupling tube which opens / closes the Air Break Switch Disconnector on the operation of the Handle Operating Mechanism.
